I am not finished with modeling yet, nor texturing, but i already made lightning tests.
Dropping some object on a plane, adding quick texture sometimes, but nothing more...
Since the story occurs at evening, I want to give the scene artificial lightning ambiance, like a lamp does.

I think the table is over exposed, and i ll fix that later. The goal is to find settings for the quickest render time.
I am using Mental Ray for lightning purpose. It simulate realistic lightning. Like in the real world light bounces and its path is calculated depending of object topology, composition etc.... This tool is powerfull but you have to be patient! Realistic means a lot of calculations.
On a common computer, rendering a picture can take many hours, sometimes more than one day!
My movie will have 25 frames/seconds (PAL), and will lenght around 3:30, that's nothing more than 5250 Frames!
In a big company, i could have tons of fast computers gathered together (i.e A render farm), which could calculate the whole animation in a few minutes, but since i own only one machine, and since i cannot block the computer for ever :p, i have to make compromise between render time and image quality.
I am aiming a render time of 1-2 min per frame = 3-7 days render time!
